Smart Tourism

AMJ has been developing a mobile website providing detailed information to the users, mainly individuals interested in visiting Brittany giving them access to events, maps, news and detailed information on the area.

AMJ UK was recently asked to design and develop a mobile website for a French based council providing a simplified version of their current website incorporating up to date and relevant information to their website users.

More specifically the mobile website includes 4 main sections including the following information:

Agenda detailing the events, cultural and sportive activities organised in the city
Events detailing the exhibitions, festivals and celebrations organised in the city
Tourism providing comprehensive information on touristic attractions or sites to visit
Practical information providing emergency contact details and useful information to the citizens.

Key features
Each section of the mobile website provides an overview of each element allowing the user to click for the full details of the article content.

All the information containing geographical data offers the user with the capability to locate the specific address and get navigation details on how to get to the destination from the current location using Googlemap technology

The tourism section provides a detailed description of the monuments or sites to visit and even includes a link to an audio guide.

Technology
The solution developed within a 2 months’ timeframe used an open source technology. The mobile website is adapted to a Smartphone screen and internet connection.

The website launched last October is a massive success as it show case the council as using the new technologies to communicate efficiently with its citizens.
